This certification, awarded to the company’s Penicillin Formulation Unit (Non-Sterile), represents a significant milestone as it marks the FIRST PENICILLIN MANUFACTURING FACILITY in Bangladesh to receive approval from any PIC/S member country. The PIC/S certification is globally recognized as a benchmark for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), emphasizing a commitment to quality and safety in pharmaceutical production. In March 2024, a dedicated regulatory team from NPRA conducted thorough inspections of the Penicillin Formulation Unit (Non-Sterile), rigorously assessing adherence to GMP standards. Following this comprehensive evaluation, the certification was granted, allowing Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. to export Non-Sterile Penicillin products to any PIC/S member countries. This achievement is a testament to Square Pharmaceuticals' unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards. The Pharma Science Club (PSC) of the Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized the Pharma Fest 2020 at UAP City Campus, Green Road, Dhaka on 5th February. SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. was the Platinum Sponsor of the Pharma Fest. Honorable Director General, Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA), Major General Md. Mahbubur Rahman addressed program as the Chief Guest. Mr. C.M. Shafi Sami, Chairman, Board of Trustees, UAP and Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Executive Director, Operations, SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. were the special guests of the program. To create awareness against the hazardous consequences of Diabetes, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. arranged “Free Diabetes Screening Campaign” at 10 (ten) different locations in Dhaka city from 6:00 am to 8:30 am on 14 November 2019 on the occasion of World Diabetes Day. The locations were Uttara Sector 7 Kollyan Samity Park, Uttara Sector 4 Kollyan Samity Park, Dr. Shaheed Fazle Rabbi Park (Gulshan Niketon), Outside of Mirpur Indoor Stadium, Manik Mia Avenue, Mohammadpur Thana Road, Ramna Park Gate, Azimpur Colony, Lalbagh Fort & Boldha Garden. On that day, around 2,500 people participated in this screening program enthusiastically. In addition, a patient awareness leaflet & 2 pcs Zerocal sachet were provided to all participants from Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Square Toiletries Ltd. respectively. Moreover, to inform people about this awareness campaign, 13 November 2019 a Branded Caravan was run within Dhaka city.

On 19 March 2019, Square Herbal & Nutraceuticals introduced Reli Balm, a topical analgesic product, indicated only for Neck & Shoulder pain. The formulation is the first time in Bangladesh. A cake cutting program was arranged along with a short presentation on Reli Balm in presence of Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, honorable Managing Director, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Besides, different clinical feature of the product was discussed by Prof. Shahabuddin Kabir Chowdhuri, Consultant, SHNL.

The 4th Samson H Chowdhury Memorial Conference was held on 9 February (Saturday) at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. Policy makers, government officials, industrialists, scientists, academicians, business professionals attended the conference that discussed various aspects of the pharmaceutical industry. Managing Director of SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Mr. Tapan Chowdhury in his inaugural speech highlighted the role of Late Samson H Chowdhury in developing the pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh. The biennial conference is organized to continue the legacy of Samson H Chowdhury for development of the pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh. This year, the conference was divided into 3 plenary sessions. The first session addressed Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting & the current state of Bangladesh Pharma industry to counter this issue. Prof. Dr. Md. In the second session prospective collaboration between industry & university/research organizations for future development of pharmaceutical industry was addressed by Key note speaker Mr. Nawabur Rahman, Director, Technical Operations, SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Prof. Mustafizur Rahman of Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) was the key note speaker of the third session which was about the Pharmaceutical Industry of Bangladesh- the opportunities & challenges of this industry 3 scientists were awarded “Samson H Chowdhury Award for Young Scientist” for their outstanding research work & contribution in pharmaceutical & healthcare sector. The awards were handed over by Major General Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Director General, DGDA; Mr. Nazmul Hassan MP, President of Bangladesh Aushud Shilpa Samity & Mr. Salman F Rahman MP, Private Industry & investment Advisor to Hon’ble Prime Minister, Advisor of Bangladesh Aushad Shilpa Samity & Vice Chairman Beximco Group of Companies.

Vitaminion Comic is a health awareness comic book where Vitaminion is a Comic character that speaks about different health issues to build awareness among children & parents. SQUARE Pharma organized the unveiling ceremony of Vitaminion Comic on 3 March 2018 at the auditorium of SQUARE Hospitals Ltd. Prof. Dr. Md. Ekhlasur Rahman, Anwer Khan Modern Medical College chaired the event.

USFDA has approved Square’s first ANDA on Valsartan Tablets (40mg, 80mg, 160mg and 320mg). The approved tablets have been developed at Square’s R&D center in Bangladesh. Market size of Valsartan tablets in USA is US$ 137 million.

Foreign journalists from Canada, Brazil, Philippines, Germany, Republic of Korea, France, Ethiopia, India, Turkey and Thailand visited Square’s facility in Kaliakair on 16th April. The team was invited by the Government of Bangladesh to experience the progress of Bangladesh in pharmaceutical sector. The journalists were amazed to see Square’s manufacturing and quality operation systems while realizing the progress of the country in that particular sector.

On January 8, 2018 (Monday), Square Pharmaceuticals Kenya EPZ Ltd, a 100% subsidiary of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Bangladesh, started the construction work of it’s state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing plant through a grand Groundbreaking Ceremony in Nairobi, Kenya. Chowdhury & Ms. Anika Chowdhury, the Management Coordinators of Square Pharmaceuticals, the Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives of Bangladesh, the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Kenya and other dignitaries from Kenya EPZ, World Bank, IFC, Standard Chartered Bank joined together to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony of “Square Pharmaceuticals Kenya EPZ Ltd”.

In recognition of outstanding achievement in keeping healthy environment and protecting environment from pollution, Kaliakoir facilities of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been awarded “National Environment Award-2017”. The award was received by Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. from Sheikh Hasina, the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh on 4 June 2017.

A group of 43 Doctors from Nepalese Doctors Welfare Society visited Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd.'s Kaliakoir facilities on May 4,2017. They were very pleased to visit such a state-of-art facilities. To commemorate World Autism Awareness Day, SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. organized a symposium on 9th April at the auditorium of SQUARE Hospitals Ltd. Prof. Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman (Chairman, Department of Pediatric Neurology, BSMMU) chaired the event. Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. gave the welcome speech. Prof. Dr. Shaheen Akhter (Project Director, Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder & Autism, BSMMU), Dr. Sarwar Jahan Bhuiyan (Sr. Consultant, Apollo Hospital, Dhaka), Prof. Dr. Hakim Arif (Chairman, Dept. of Communication Disorder, Dhaka University) & Prof. Dr. Narayan Saha (Head of Pediatric Neurology, National Institute of Neurosciences) gave their valuable speech regarding various aspects for the caregiving of autistic children. Doctors, therapists & teachers from renowned medical institutions like BSMMU, icddrb, Dhaka Shishu Hospital and National Institute of Neurosciences attended the program.

US Ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat made a visit to Square Pharmaceuticals Limited’s facilities in Gazipur on 11 April, 2017. Managing Director of Square Pharma Tapan Chowdhury was present there to receive her. Among others, Mizanur Rahman, Executive Director (Operations), Nawabur Rahman, Technical Operations Director, and Rajiv Rana, Senior Manager (Human Resources) were also present during the visit. Later, a meeting took place there upon which Prosenjit Chakraborty on behalf of Square Pharma briefed the delegates about the overall state of the company. Visiting the facilities there, Ms. Bernicat highly appreciated the production quality, environment etc. among other things. She also had her positive words for Square Pharmaceuticals’ worldwide role as exporter of medicine. Tapan Chowdhury stated that the visit of the US Ambassador was a great opportunity to introduce Bangladesh to the world market. It can be mentioned here that Square Pharmaceuticals recently achieved FDA certification of the United States.

3rd Samson H Chowdhury Memorial Conference 2017 on Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry held on 18th February, 2017 at Samson H Chowdhury Centre, Dhaka Club, Dhaka. Discussions of the conference were focused on Bangladesh pharmaceutical industry’s current issues related to regulation, constraints and potentials. The conference was inaugurated by Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Pharma. The conference had three plenary sessions. In the first session Mr. Dr. Md. Zahirul Islam Khan, Freelancer Consultant from Australia gave a keynote address on Common Technical Documents (CTD) and expectations of Regulatory Authorities. Second session was on Growing challenges on Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) – Bangladesh perspective presented by Professor Dr. Sanya Tahmina, Director, Directorate General of Health Services of Bangladesh as key note speaker. And in the 3rd session Mr. Abdul Muktadir, Chairman & Managing Director, Incepta Pharmaceuticals gave keynote address on Preparedness of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry for the future potentials and challenges in the last session. In the conference two young biological scientists were awarded with Samson H Chowdhury Awards for their research contributions. Honorable Minister of Health handed over the awards to the scientists. The event was concluded by Mr. Salman F Rahman, Advisor, Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI), proposing a vote of thanks to the participants, moderators, speakers and organizers. This conference is taking place in every two years since 2013.

Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has achieved the GMP certification from MOH, Azerbaijan. The inspection was held on 24-27 October 2016 and the certificates were issued on 9th January 2017.

Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been awarded ‘Gold Trophy’ for its achievement in export in the category of medicine for the period of 2013-2014. Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Pharma. has received the award on 1st January, 2017 from Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh at BICC, Dhaka.

Square Pharmaceutical Company won the 6th HSBC Export Excellent Award on 3 December 2016. The award was handed at a ceremony at Radisson hotel in Dhaka. Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. won the award in the category of exporters in traditional and emerging sectors with annual export turnover of $5 million or more.

Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd received the National Export Trophy (Gold) from the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh on 28 August 2016 at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka. To increase awareness about diabetes and its prevention a “Free Diabetes Screening & Awareness Program” has been arranged for the employees of Head Quarter of Square Group on 19 & 20 July 2016. In this event, we have conducted different medical tests e.g., Blood Glucose Level (Fasting/Random), Blood pressure & BMI (Body Mass Index).

Square donated medicines for the cyclone affected people of Fiji. Fiji faced the worst storm recorded in its history (category 5 Cyclone ‘Winston’) on last February 2016 where many people died in that natural catastrophe.

The day has been celebrated in different diabetic centers & hospitals all over the country in a festive manner. On 16th June, USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) has released Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) on recent Pre Approval Inspection (PAI) to Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Based on the report, the report states that Square had a satisfactory cGMP inspection covering manufacturing of solid dosage form. Square has taken necessary preparations to manufacture launched quantity of the product. For the first time in Bangladesh US FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) conducted cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) audit of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in January 2015. Manufacturing and Quality Assurance system of the oral solid dosage facilities of Square Pharma located at Gazipur was audited in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR : Food & Drugs) of United States of America. The audit ended without issuing any 483 form. Square Pharma facilities have the track record of complying with the most stringent cGMP audits of highly regulated agencies like UK and Australia.

The festival was organized by Notre Dame Debating Club and held at Notre Dame College premises from 3rd December 2014 to 13th December 2014. The science festival was held from 18th to 25th November 2014. The Prime Minister of Bhutan Mr. Tshering Tobgay visited the manufacturing plant of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Kaliakoir, Gazipur on 7th December 2014 (Sunday). On his arrival at Kaliakoir, he was received by Mr. Mohammad Nurul Islam, Deputy Commissioner, Gazipur and senior officials of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. The Bhutanese Prime Minister went around different sections of the manufacturing plant and expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for showing him the state-of-the-art facilities of the plant.

On the occasion of 7th National Income Tax Day, Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has been awarded as one of the highest tax paying corporates in 2013-2014 fiscal years.

SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. arranged a day long plant visit program for 24th batch students of Department of Pharmacy, Jahangirnagar University in their Dhaka Plant, Kaliakoir on 23rd August 2014. It was a program of 43 participants, along with the students Prof. Dr. Sukalyan Kumar Kundu was also present.

The students got the opportunity to enrich their knowledge with the working process & latest, sophisticated technologies of a TGA & UKMHRA approved cGMP compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. They observed the manufacturing process of different Solid Dosage Forms, Biotech Products i.e. Insulins. The program offered them a chance to correlate between theoretical knowledge and practical manufacturing processes.

A delegation of nineteen personnel from the National Defence College (NDC) of Tanzania visited Square Pharmaceuticals’ state-of-the-art manufacturing plants at Kaliakoir, Gazipur on 7th of June, 2014. The delegation was headed by Major General Festo Ndewiro Ulomi (Rtd.). As a part their Efficient Industrial Management, the delegation visited Square Pharmaceuticals. Commerce Minister Mr. Tofail Ahmed & Commerce Secretary Mr. Mahbub Ahmed accompanied the WTO chief. Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Managing Director of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd received the guests upon arrival. Ambassador of Brazil to Bangladesh - Her Excellency Ms. Wanja Nobrega was also present on the occasion.

A scientific seminar on “Pulmonary Hypertension” was held at National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute (NHFH&RI) on 29.01.2014. Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. was the sponsor of the program. National Professor Brig. (Rtd.) Abdul Malik and Prof. R. K. Khandaker was present as chairperson of the seminar. Dr. Md. Kabiruzzaman delivered presentation on “Pulmonary Hypertension & its Management”. One of our new products, ‘Ambrisan’ (Ambrisentan 5 mg tablet) was also presented in the seminar. A seminar on Thyroid disorders & Osteoporosis was held on 21 September, 2013 at Jahangirnagar University, Savar. Thyroid disorders & Osteoporosis are among most prevalent diseases in Bangladesh. Objective of this seminar was to aware people about these two diseases. Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh in association with UNDP awarded SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. upon its contribution to the environment by producing HFA based inhalers. One of the chemicals that harm the ozone layer the most is CFC. Taking this into account, SQUARE Pharmaceuticals Ltd. has stopped producing any CFC based inhaler from 1st January 2013. Mr. Md. Square Knit Fabrics Limited has been selected as one of the best environmentally compliant factories to receive the prestigious “Award of the Environmental Compliance Program’’ jointly organized by BGMEA, IFC, UK Aid & Norad. A jury board comprised of BGMEA, IFC-SEDF and environmental experts reviewed the findings of a survey conducted for long 2-years on the wet processing 250 factories (Composite Fabric, Yarn, Dyeing & Washing) in Bangladesh and selected our factory among others for the award.  The ceremony held on 19 February, 2013 at 11:00 am at Ball Room, The Westin, Gulshan-2, Dhaka.

The Samson H Chowdhury Memorial Conference took place at the ball room of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel on Saturday, 26th January 2013. The topic of discussion at the conference was ‘Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry and Current Issues.’ Square Pharmaceuticals arranged this conference in honor of the Bangladeshi pharmaceutical industry pioneer; entrepreneur and Founder Chairman of Square Group the late Samson H Chowdhury. The Chairperson of the Trustee Board of Anita Samson Foundation and Square Foundation Mrs. Anita Chowdhury inaugurated the proceedings. Many notable representatives of the Bangladeshi pharmaceutical industry attended this day-long conference. The Samson H Chowdhury Memorial Conference was segmented into four sessions. The first session was on ‘Current Trends and Future of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industry.’ The Keynote was presented by the General Secretary of Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries and the Managing Director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Limited Mr. Abdul Muktadir. The session was moderated by Professor Dr. Syed Ferhat Anwar of the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. The second session revolved around the issue of ‘Importance of Monitoring of GMP in Daily Practices.’ The keynote speaker for this session was Dr. Suggy S. Chrai, from Chrai Associates Inc. in New Jersey, USA. Professor A.B.M. Farouque, of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka acted as the moderator of this session. The third session was on ‘Bio Equivalence Study and Preparedness of Industry.’ The keynote presenter was Dr. Ravishankar Santhanam, the Director of Quality Insurance at GVK Bio Science India Ltd. The moderator was Ms. Lutfe Ara, the Head of Clinical Governance and Systems, icddr,b. The last session of the Samson H Chowdhury Memorial Conference 2013 focused on the ‘Expected Framework for Industry and Academic Relationship.’ The keynote speaker for the final session was Professor A.B.M. Farouque, of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, University of Dhaka. This session was moderated by Professor Syed Ferhat Anwar, from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka. It should be noted that Samson H Chowdhury was one of the most successful trailblazers of the Bangladeshi Pharmaceutical Industry. His contributions and dedication has helped the Bangladeshi pharmaceutical industry come a long way over the past years. He put Bangladesh on the map as one of the nations that export pharmaceutical products. He left his worldly concerns behind on 5th January, 2012. He was 86 years old at the time of his passing. He had also achieved remarkable success in fields such as textile, toiletries, health care and media.

The inauguration program was held on 21st January 2013 at NHFH&RI auditorium. Around 300 participants were present in the program. Managing Director of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mr. Tapan Chowdhury was present in the program. National Professor Brig. (Rtd.) The Chairman of Square group Mr. Samuel S. Chowdhury, Managing Director Mr. Tapan Chowdhury, Management Coordinator Mr. Eric S Chowdhury along with all high officials & Medical Promotion Officers were present in the conference. The overall performances of 2012 as well as the action plan for 2013 were discussed in that conference. Besides, the best performers were rewarded. The visiting Prime Minister of Belarus His Excellency Mr. Mikhail V. Myasnikovich visited Square Pharmaceuticals’ state-of-the-art Dhaka Plant on the 13th November, 2012. Belarus’s Deputy Minister for Health, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and high officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh accompanied the Prime Minister during the visit. Upon arrival Chairman of Square group Mr. Samuel S Chowdhury and Director Mr. Anjan Chowdhury received the guests in the company premise. The visiting Prime Minister Mikhail was impressed seeing first-hand a world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Bangladesh. He was particularly attracted to the Plant’s adoption of the latest technologies in manufacturing and quality assurance. The manufacturing units of Square have been built in conformance with the North American and European regulatory requirements. During the course of the Plant visit, at a discussion, he expressed his willingness to expand relations in pharmaceuticals between Belarus and Bangladesh. It is to note that Bangladesh is one of the fastest growing pharmaceutical manufacturing hubs in the world and Square is leading the Bangladesh pharma market since 1985. Square has signed a Memorandum Understanding with Belarus on export of finished pharmaceuticals, evaluation of investment in pharmaceutical sector and on sharing of technical know-how to Belarus.

As a result, Sabazpur Tea Company Ltd. has enlisted itself not only as an organic tea grower in Bangladesh but also made its foot step in global arena. Lacon GmbH is accredited as an international institute offers a wide range of certification services for production, processing and handling of organic agricultural products as per International Featured Standards (IFS). This certificate demonstrates all aspects of our organic production, processing, and export within the framework of a system that does not allow for commingling or contamination of organic products with non-approved substances. Sabazpur Tea Garden uses natural pest & controls weed manually. It only employs renewable resources and maintains the soil's fertility. These practices demonstrate the garden's commitment to protect both human health and wildlife.

Physically challenged or disabled person in other ways has the same rights and they require a holistic support from their families and the society, in which they live in. To increase the awareness about this amongst the youth, the Bangladesh Systems Change Advocacy (BSCAN) organized an inter school and college debate competition on 7th and 8th September 2012. The competition was sponsored by Square Pharmaceuticals Limited and was supported by Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, Chittagong Society of Dhaka, and Siddiqui’s International School. The main slogan of this competition was, “Wake up youth; we want a society for the physically challenged people, UNIMPEDED.” The chief advisor of BSCAN, Professor Dr. Shubhagoto Chowdhury, Director, Laboratory Services, BIRDEM, presided over the meeting. Eminent writer Professor Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Head of the Department, Computer Science and Technology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology was present as Chief Guest.

Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) on Tuesday gave away awards to 111 sports personalities for the last seven years- 'Kool BSJA Awards 2002-2008'- at a colorful function at the NSC Tower. It turned into a get-together for the sports personalities at the NSC Tower on occasion of the Kool BSJA Awards. Star sportsmen, coaches, organizers, sponsors are among others were present to attend this colorful function. Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad graced the function as chief guest while State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarker and Managing Director of Square Toiletries Anjan Chowdhury were also present as special guests. The chief guest, Minister of Information and Cultural Affairs Abul Kalam Azad remarked that the award will motivate players, coaches, organizers and sponsors to give more to the development of sports in the country. "I hope you will take this recognition as a motivation to raise our flag high in the international sports arena," Azad urged the awardees. Besides, State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar said, "The players should give all their efforts according to the capabilities." He said that the government will give all out support to the players. As special guest, Anjan Chowdhury said his organization has been sponsoring sports at different levels for a long time and sponsoring of this function was a continuation of our efforts in the field of sports. For patronizing sports at the national level Square Group won the "Kool- BSJA Sponsor Award-2003" and Mr. Anjan Chowdhury, MD, Square Toiletries Limited was also awarded for "Kool- BSJA Organizer award-2004". A minute's silence was observed prior to the start of the prize giving ceremony in memory of players, sports organizers and those who were killed in the sad BDR Headquarters incident on February 25. The function also marked the 21st birthday of national all-rounder Shakib al Hasan, who was nominated for the sportsman of the year 2008. A Six member team of Board of Directors of Asian Development Bank visited Square Pharmaceutical's State of the Art manufacturing facilities at Kaliakoir on June 19 last. ADB Country Director Ms. Hua Du also accompanied the team. The sprawling site currently houses three manufacturing facilities which are Solid Dosage, Cephalosporins and SVPO (Small Volume Parenteral and Ophthalmic). SQUARE Pharmaceuticals received UK MHRA (United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency) certification of its solid dosage facilities in February 2007 which was the first for a Bangladeshi company. First shipment of products from the facility to UK was made in September 2007. The visiting Board Members of ADB were from Germany, Korea, United States, Australia, Netherlands and India. The visitors were briefed on the Square pharmaceutical\'s Domestic and International business followed by a tour of the manufacturing facilities. The Board of Directors was impressed by the progress Bangladesh achieved in Pharmaceuticals. Square\'s use of state of the art manufacturing facilities for pharmaceutical production and it\'s on going works to enter into the pharmaceutical markets of Europe and North America received admiration from the visiting ADB Board of Directors. SAFA (South Asian Federation of Accountants) - an apex body of SAARC (South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation) awarded Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. the "Merit Certificate" for the year 2006 in the Manufacturing Sector of "SAFA Best Presented Accounts Awards Competition 2006". The SAFA committee honored Square based on its evaluation of published annual report of the company on improvement, transparency, accountability and governance. SAFA as a forum of professional accountancy bodies is committed to positioning, maintaining and developing the accountancy profession in SAARC Region and ensuring its continued eminence in the world of accountancy; in the public interest and towards broad economic development of the region.
